Your store
Connect your domain
Your store starts at an address on Bazuva made from your store id. You can also serve it on a domain you own, such as shop.example.com or example.com. You prove the domain is yours with one DNS record and point it at Bazuva with another. Your Bazuva address keeps working alongside it.
Before you start
You need a domain you have bought, and access to the place where its DNS records are managed. This is usually where you bought the domain (such as Namecheap, Hostinger or GoDaddy) or a service like Cloudflare.
A subdomain such as shop.example.com is the simplest: it connects with one CNAME record. The domain itself (example.com) needs A records, or a provider that supports ALIAS records or CNAME flattening.
Add the domain
- Go to Settings → Domains.
- Choose Add domain.
- Type the hostname under Your domain, such as shop.example.com.
- Choose Add domain.
The domain shows as Waiting for DNS, with the records to create.
Create the records
The domain’s card lists two records, each with its Host / name and Value / points to, and copy buttons for both:
- A TXT record that proves you own the domain.
- A CNAME record for a subdomain, or A records for the domain itself, that send visitors to your store.
- Choose Open your DNS records. Bazuva recognises many providers from the domain’s name servers, including Cloudflare, Namecheap, Hostinger, GoDaddy, IONOS and Route 53, and this link opens the provider’s DNS page directly. The card also shows a note in your provider’s own words, such as using @ for the domain itself.
- At your provider, add each record. Copy the host and the value from the card rather than typing them.
- Save the records at your provider.
If your provider is Cloudflare, set the proxy status of both records to “DNS only” (the grey cloud) until the domain shows as connected. You can turn the proxy back on afterwards.
Check the records
Come back to Settings → Domains and choose Check now. Each record shows found, missing or not checked, and what your DNS says at the moment. When both records are found, the domain shows Connected and visitors reach your store on it.
DNS changes can take up to an hour to spread. If a record is still missing, wait a little and choose Check now again. Keep the records in place after the domain is connected.
Connect automatically
Some DNS providers can create the records for you. If Connect automatically is offered for your domain, choose it, sign in to your provider and confirm. When you come back, the records are checked by themselves. If automatic connection is not available for your provider, Bazuva says why, and you create the records by hand as above.
Make a domain primary
If you connect more than one domain, the primary one is the address your store uses. The first domain you add becomes primary. To change it, choose Make primary on another domain that is already connected.
Remove a domain
Choose the remove option on the domain’s card. If it was the primary domain, the next connected domain becomes primary. Your Bazuva address never stops working.
