Your store

Send email from your address

Your store sends emails such as order confirmations and shipping updates. Until you connect your own mail server, Bazuva sends them on your behalf. When you connect yours, every email your store sends goes out through it, from your own address, such as orders@yourshop.com.

Before you start

You need an email account with a provider that lets you send by SMTP, and its sending details: usually a username and a password, an app password or an API key. Bazuva has the server settings ready for these providers:

  • Google Workspace / Gmail
  • Zoho Mail
  • Hostinger email
  • Namecheap Private Email
  • SendGrid
  • Brevo (Sendinblue)
  • Mailgun
  • Postmark
  • Amazon SES

For any other provider, choose Another SMTP server and type the details yourself.

Connect your mail server

  1. Go to Settings → Email.
  2. Choose Connect your mail server.
  3. Choose your Email provider. Its SMTP server, Port and Encryption fill in. For a custom server, type them: TLS usually uses port 587, SSL port 465.
  4. Type the Username and the Password or API key your provider gives you. The form links to your provider’s help page on where to find them.
  5. Type the From name, such as your store’s name, and the From address. The address must be one your provider lets you send as.
  6. Optionally type a Reply-to address, if replies should go somewhere else.
  7. Choose Save email settings.

The password is stored encrypted and never shown again. To keep it when you change something else, leave the field blank.

Send a test email

The connection is not used until a test email gets through.

  1. Under Test the connection, type the address under Send a test email to.
  2. Choose Send test email.
  3. Check that inbox. When the test is sent, the connection shows as verified and your store starts sending through it.

If you change any setting later, send a test again to verify the connection.

Add SPF, DKIM and DMARC

Receiving mail services trust email from your domain when three DNS records exist. After you save, the page lists the Records for your domain, with copy buttons for each host and value.

  • SPF says which servers may send for your domain.
  • DKIM signs your emails. Its value comes from your provider; the page tells you to look there.
  • DMARC tells receivers what to do with mail that fails the checks.

Add them where your domain’s DNS is managed, then choose Check SPF and DMARC to see whether they are found. DKIM is checked by your provider. A domain has only one SPF record, so if you already have one, add your provider to it rather than creating a second.

Go back to Bazuva’s sending

To stop using your own server, choose Use the platform sending instead. Your store’s emails are then sent by Bazuva again.
