Connect a courier

When you connect your own courier account, you can book parcels from Bazuva instead of typing them into the courier’s panel, print labels, and follow every parcel as the courier updates it. Bazuva works with Steadfast, Pathao and RedX. Until you connect one, you can still send parcels by hand and type the tracking number yourself.

Before you start

You need a merchant account with the courier and the keys from its merchant panel:

  • Steadfast: API key and Secret key. A Webhook token is optional; you choose it yourself and type the same token in Steadfast’s panel.
  • Pathao: Client ID, Client secret, Username (email) and Password. A Webhook secret is optional.
  • RedX: Access token.

Connect the courier

  1. Go to Shipping → Carriers.
  2. Choose Connect a carrier.
  3. Choose the Carrier.
  4. Give the connection a Name, such as “Steadfast Dhaka”. You can connect more than one account of the same courier.
  5. Set the Mode to Sandbox (testing) or Live.
  6. Type the keys under Keys from the courier.
  7. Choose Connect.

The keys are checked with the courier as you save. A saved secret is never shown again; to keep it, leave the field as it is. Changing a key means checking the account again.

Check the connection

The connection’s page shows its Status: Not checked, Working, Failing or Off, and when it was last checked. Choose Check again at any time; when the courier answers, you see The carrier answered. The page also lists what the courier can do through Bazuva, and the recent Calls to the carrier with the courier’s answers.

Receive status updates

Under Status updates, choose Copy next to the Webhook address and paste it into the courier’s merchant panel, where it asks for a webhook or callback address. Parcel updates then arrive as they happen. Bazuva also asks the courier for updates every few hours, so a missed update is caught.

Map your pickup stores

Pathao and RedX keep a list of your pickup addresses, which they call pickup stores.

  1. On the connection’s page, under Pickup stores, choose Read them again to load them from the courier.
  2. For each pickup store, choose which of your locations hands parcels over there.

The pickup stores themselves are the courier’s; add or change them in the courier’s panel, then read them again.

Read the courier’s areas

Pathao and RedX deliver to their own list of areas. Under The carrier’s areas, choose Read them again to load the list. Bazuva matches it to its own list of places, so a customer’s district and area are sent the way the courier expects. Read it again whenever the courier changes its areas.

Steadfast does not use pickup stores or an area list, so these parts do not appear for it.

Book parcels from the fulfilment queue

  1. Go to Fulfilment → To fulfil. Orders waiting to be sent are listed by location, the oldest first, with the cash to collect.
  2. Tick the orders you want to send.
  3. Under Book with, choose the courier connection, or keep The store’s default carrier.
  4. Choose Book shipments.

Each order shows whether it was booked or why it was not. Its shipment appears under Fulfilment → Shipments, where you can follow it, see the courier’s updates and print its label again.

To send one order with more control, open its row menu and choose Create shipment. There you choose the items to send, the parcels and their weight, the Carrier, and the Cash to collect. With Pathao and RedX, choose Get prices to see the courier’s price. Then choose Create and book.

Book by itself

In the fulfilment settings (Settings on the fulfilment page), Book with the default carrier can be set to:

  • Only by hand
  • When the order is paid
  • When cash on delivery is confirmed

With either of the last two, parcels are booked with your default carrier without anyone choosing Book shipments.

Tick orders on Fulfilment → To fulfil and choose Print labels or Print packing slips. Bazuva makes the labels as a PDF in the paper size you choose under Label size: A4, A6 or 4 × 6 inches.

Labels print in Latin letters. A word written in Bangla is left off the paper, while the order number, the phone number and an address in English print in full.
